Born on August 18, 1900 in  Kiev

1902 Spassky' family moves to the Caucasus in Georgia

1912-1915 Attended the Tiflis School of Painting and Sculpture  operated by the Imperial Academy of Arts

1914 Became acquainted with members of the Futurist group: David Burliuk, Vasily Kamensky, Vladimir Mayakovsky

1917 Family moved to Samara. Graduates from an eight-year program at the Samara First Men's Gymnasium. Holds first exhibition (together with David Burliuk)

1917-1918 Moved to Moscow. Takes lessons at the Moscow art studios of M. Severov, M. Leblanc and P. Baklanov's Moscow

1918-1919 Took part in "The Big Siberian Tour" (an exhibition of futuristic art, a poezokontserts, evening-grandiozar) together with David Burliuk and Boris Chetverikov

1919-1920 Conscripted to the White army, served as clerk in the Third Steppe Regiment, in Osvedverkhe at the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander; as illustrator for the frontline mobile newspaper "Vpered" under the leadership of Vasily Yanchevetsky (writer V. Yang)

1920 Worked as a set designer at the Omsk Theater

1920-1921 Instructor in the Visual Arts department of the Proletkult; worked in the State Art Workshops in Samara, Became a member of the Labor Union of Arts Workers (VSERABIS) (in 1924 became All-Union)

1921 Returned to Moscow, worked as an instructor in the instructors department of the subsection of the "Fine Arts" sector of the Social Education and Polytechnic Education of Children (GLAVSOCVOS) of the National Commissariat of Education of RSFSR and the Art Department of Political and Educational Management of the Moscow Military District (MMD)

1921-1922 Studied at Vkhutemas (Higher Art and Technical Studios), becam friends with Velimir Khlebnikov, participated in the interior decoration of artistic cafes "Domino" and "Stoilo Pegasa", became a member of the Moscow branch (so-called "Lomonosov") Anthroposophic society

1922-1923 Collaborated with the Union of Poets, worked in Muzgiz as a book and sheet music illustrator

1924-1925 Taught drawing at “labor schools” (the 22nd school, the 185th school, etc.)

1926 Student and practitioner of Circus Art Workshop in various occupations in the First and Second State Circuses and in the Circus Music Hall

1927 Worked as the director and the shprekhshtalmeyster in the First State Mobile Circus (circus Chapiteau), participated in V.E. Lazarenko  clown acts

1927 - 1935 Worked as an assistant producer in the Evg. Vakhtangov Theatre

1929 Married Elena Dekaprelevich

The 1930’s Formed friendship with the Civil War hero and writer Mate Zalka (Béla Frankl)

1938 The State Literary Museum acquired his portraits of Velimir Khlebnikov and Mate Zalka

1939-1941 Began working as a monumental painter. Decorated the diplomatic mission building of the USSR in Bucharest, Romania (1939), the Moscow subway station “Stalin’s Factory” (ZIS, Avtozavodskaya since 1940-41), began creative collaboration with the architect A.N. Dushkin. Spassky and Dushkin paint portrait of each other (1939)

1941 Met and formed a long-term friendship with Sofya Andreevna Tolstaya-Yesenina, the director of the museums of L.N. Tolstoy. Completed work on the portrait of Lev Nikolaevich Tolstoy, which was acquired by the museum of the author in 1966

1942 –1945 Moved to Tbilisi. Headed the decorative workshop of the Opera and Ballet Theater of Z.P. Paliashvili in Tbilisi

1943-1945 Worked as a set designer in the State Theatre for Young Audience of L.M. Kaganovich in Tbilisi

1946-1957 Returned to Moscow. Worked as the artists of the regionfl site № 1 of the Ministry of Railways. Participated in the reconstruction of building interiors of the Savelovsky, Kursk and Leningrad Train Stations. Executes artistic and decorative works in the building of the All-Union Academy of Agricultural Sciences (1954). Under the leadership of the architect A.N. Dushkin participated in the decoration of the Novoslobodskaya metro station (1951) and the Central Children’s Department Store (1954), etc.

1945-1962 Worked on the restoration of Orthodox churches, painted murals: The Academic Temple of the Moscow Orthodox Spiritual Academy in the Novodevichy Convent in Moscow (1945-46), Pyotr and Pavel's Temple to Lefortovo in Moscow (1947-48), the Kishenevsky Cathedral (1951-53), Church of Our Lady of Kazan Ivanisova (1956-59), Krestovozdvizhenskaya Church of the village of Altufyevo (1962), etc. sat down.

The 1940-1950th Communicates closely with Boris Pasternak

1951 – the end of the 1970’s Worked on musical concerts with the cellist Irina Morozova, soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre, as a musical historian.  

1971-1975 Together with the Honored actress of RSFSR and collector of fine art objects Ekaterina Mazurova, Spassky actively participated in the formation of the first art department of the Local History Museum in the city of Shuya, and later initiated the relocation of the museum to a new building and organized its first art exposition (gallery). Restored paintings donated to the museum by Ekaterina Mazurova and other valuable paintings in the museum collection, participated in the museum’s collection acquisitions, donated 20 of his works the museum’s collection.

1976 Held a personal exhibition in the Shuysky Local History Museum

1977 The state Tretyakov gallery acquires the painting "Reflection (Meditation)" (1924).

1981 51 paintings are transferred to the collection of the Ruza Regional Museum of Local History

1983 Held a personal exhibition in the Institute of Atomic Energy (IAE) of I.V. Kurchatov

June, 1985 Painted his last work "My Hour Approaches"

June 13, 1985 Died in Moscow
